The next wave is a plastic wave: How do we overcome an ocean of plastic pollution?
Mentor: Dr. Jacy Young
|Are we doing enough for our planet? For decades, plastics have polluted the natural environment, and the recycling myth has obscured the reality and complexity of the situation. Environmental problems are complex, and often perceived as distant. Environmental efforts attempting to tackle plastic pollution have failed to provoke change, which can often be explained by psychological barriers. Without new strategies that help us overcome these barriers, we might soon be living in an ocean of plastic pollution. This whiteboard animation details one way to address this issue: through localized efforts that help us engage in pro-environmental behaviour.|
