Electrification of rural Rwanda through SunRays Gate
Mentor: Dr. Andrew Hamilton
How can we improve energy systems in a developing world? Energy consumption and climate change are inherently linked.  As the planet’s demand for energy increases, many people are searching for ways to mitigate the climate impacts of this additional energy production. Renewable energy technologies provide sustainable means to combat climate change. It additionally, creates affordable electricity to rural communities. It is, for this reason, my thesis introduces a start-up business, SunRays Gate, that serves to electrify rural parts of Rwanda. The presentation here gives an overview of SunRays Gate’ operation and its contribution to mitigate climate change at a local level.
