What’s the first thing you do when you wake up? Shower? Brush your teeth? Have a glass of water? Many people don’t consider water stress when they turn on a tap. Water stress is on the rise and without a solution – billions are at risk. My research explores the opportunities and constraints of desalination as a solution. My research first explores water stress worldwide and then analyzes the results of my experimental solar thermal desalination technology. The objective of this research is largely to demonstrate how solar desalination augments water supply, which holds great promise for the food-energy-health-environment nexus.
