Motivational Values and Conservation – Relationships not Incentives Drive Conservation Action
Presented by Dr. Maï Yasué, Social Sciences Tutor (Geography) at Quest University Canada
How can we design fair and effective conservation projects? Dr. Yasué is a conservation scientist from Canada who has worked in Thailand, the Philippines, South America, and now in Tasmania on a range of different conservation schemes including protected areas. Here she will talk about past research on the social and ecological impacts of community-based marine reserves in the Philippines and current research on the motivations and values of private landholders who are engaged in conservation on their land.
