Dr. George Iwama in stable condition after being struck by car in Abbotsford Sunday morning
Quest University President Dr. George Iwama is in stable condition after being struck by a car on Sunday, Feb. 17 in Abbotsford, B.C.
The accident occurred while Dr. Iwama was walking across an intersection in Abbotsford’s downtown area at around 10 a.m. He was immediately taken to hospital, where he remains. Although non-life-threatening, his injuries will require surgery.
Police closed off the intersection at Essendene and Montrose avenues following the accident.
“The Quest community is relieved that the outcome was not worse,” said Jasmine Aimaq, Director of Communications. “We wish Dr. Iwama a speedy and complete recovery.”
In Dr. Iwama’s absence, Quest’s Board and Executive will ensure the university continues to operate smoothly and uninterrupted.
