Spotlight on new hires: Natalie Bursztyn
“My main hope is to convey the fun and joy of learning. Also, always remember the old adage about playing chess with a pigeon: no matter how good you are, the bird is just going to knock over the pieces, crap on the board, and then strut around like it won.”
Natalie began her geology education with mineral and energy exploration (geological engineering) before teaching geology at a community college in California. After several years, she returned to school and earned her PhD in geomorphology with a side emphasis in geoscience education. She has a passion for finding hands-on, creative and arts & crafts ways to teach, inspiring students to explore their environment and appreciate the earth.
