An enthusiastic teacher and dramatist, Fei has taught over 20 college level courses, and directed many theatre productions, in both Shanghai and California.

His teaching incorporates innovative techniques and an interdisciplinary approach. Theory-informed and practice-based, Fei challenges his students to read, write, think, speak and act out of the box. He encourages them to become artists in their different fields of studies through daring adventures and creations.

He is eager to learn from the new generations of Quest students and excited about collaborating with them on projects that relate to literature, cultural studies, Asian studies, theater, film, visual culture, performance, animal and critical theory, translation, ethnicity studies, and gender and sexuality studies.

His research been published in numerous academic journals and books on both sides of the Pacific.

In his spare time, Fei loves sports that involve racquets, from ping-pong, badminton and tennis to squash and racquet ball.
