Long before she became Quantitative Reasoning Coordinator at Quest, Chris decided that she wanted to be a math teacher because she wanted everyone to understand how simple it really was, even though the teacher sometimes made it look complicated—or so it seemed at age eight.
After studying applied mathematics at the University of St Andrews, she still felt much the same, and qualified as a secondary school teacher. After several years of teaching in Scotland and England she moved to Vancouver and took the opportunity to earn a PhD in mathematics education.
This prompted a move into post-secondary teaching. where she now helps the over 18s to see how easy mathematics really is!
At times, Chris has been tempted to pursue her passion for singing, but she has always been unable to resist the pull of mathematics. She is always looking for people with whom she can sing and play, however.
