Fall 2020 Welcome Page

Fall 2020 Students’ Welcome Experience

You likely know lots about Quest already since you have been with us remotely for about a year. However, we want you to have time to settle, ask us questions, and get to know each other. We invite all Fall 2020 students to join us for Orientation this August!

  • All other incoming students: August 26th

Classes start on Monday, August 30th.

All travelers must complete the Quest arrival form by July 12th. Fully vaccinated Fall 2020 or Fall 2021 cohort students, you should move-in on August 26th to participate in Orientation. Please review the fully vaccinated travelers exemption checklist.

  • Beginning July 5, 2021 at 11:59 p.m. EDT, fully vaccinated travelers who are permitted to enter Canada will not be subject to the federal requirement to quarantine or take a COVID-19 test on day-8.
  • Fully vaccinated travelers arriving by air will not be required to stay at a government-authorized hotel.
  • To be considered fully vaccinated, a traveler must have received the full series of a vaccine — or combination of vaccines — accepted by the Government of Canada at least 14 days prior to entering Canada. Currently, those vaccines are manufactured by Pfizer, Moderna, AstraZeneca/COVISHIELD, and Janssen (Johnson & Johnson). Travelers can receive their vaccine in any country, and must provide documentation supporting their vaccination in English, French or with a certified translation.
  • For these new measures to apply to them, fully vaccinated travelers must still meet all other mandatory requirements, including pre- and on-arrival testing
  • Fully vaccinated travelers must also be asymptomatic, have a paper or digital copy of their vaccination documentation, and provide COVID-19-related information electronically through ArriveCAN prior to arrival in Canada.
  • They must still present a suitable quarantine plan, and be prepared to quarantine, in case it is determined at the border that they do not meet all the conditions required to be exempt from quarantine.
  • If the border agents determine you will have to complete the 14-day quarantine, you will be able to quarantine at Quest. You will have to notify us immediately by emailing housing@questu.ca and barbara.fernandes@questu.ca. You will be automatically added to the quarantine package and will be billed accordingly. You will have to secure your own transportation to campus. Your quarantine room will be waiting for you upon arrival. I will share a form with you next week so you can indicate your travel plans.

All travelers must complete the Quest arrival form by July 12th. Unvaccinated international students should move-in on August 9th to 13th to complete their 3-night hotel stay and their 14-day quarantine. Please review the unvaccinated traveler flying into Canada checklist or the unvaccinated travelers driving into Canada checklist.

  • For travelers who are not fully vaccinated, there are no changes to Canada’s current border measures.
  • They must continue to adhere to the current testing and federal quarantine requirements, which have been effective in reducing importation and transmission of COVID-19 and variants in Canada, and provide COVID-19-related information electronically through ArriveCAN before arriving in Canada.
  • Unvaccinated air travelers must also book a three-night stay at a government-authorized hotel before their departure to Canada.
  • Quest continues to offer a Quarantine Package. You can request the package through the arrival form by July 12th.
Quest Quarantine Package – for unvaccinated travelers
