Shannon Casson is thrilled to merge her professional experience and personal passion to enhance the recreation and wellness experience for the Quest community.
She is the founder of HAPPE, a global movement to encourage people of all ages to move and play. HAPPE stands for Healthy Active People Play Everyday. Through movement, she imagines our world a healthier, happier and more fun place. She is a physical literacy consultant, experienced curriculum writer in the domains of PE, health and sport, and a community champion for healthy active living.
Shannon earned her undergrad in accounting while playing women’s basketball for Marymount University in Arlington, Virginia. After graduating from the University of Virginia’s Curry School of Education with her Masters in Kinesiology Pedagogy, she headed west to the Colorado Rockies to launch her teaching career.
Shannon brings 15+ years experience as a master PE & health educator. Throughout her career, she coached a myriad of youth sports, served as athletic director, and continues to advocate for quality daily physical education in schools and active workplaces. She is an integral member of the Move Live Learn team and has helped to develop physical literacy enriched programs for youth through the Jackie Joyner-Kersee Foundation, Boys and Girls Club of America, and Underdog Dreams.
