Real Money, False Hope: A Call to Legislate the Loot Box
Mentor: Dr. Tamara Trafton
Are we losing ourselves to our technology? The exceptionally rapid evolution of the Internet has yielded unintended consequences, including addiction potential and increasingly pervasive monetization. Legislative inertia enables these mechanics’ persistence, but regulating them as actual slot machines are will curb their further incorporation into new media forms.
