Can Humans One Day Live on The Red Planet?
Mentor: Dr. Andrew Hamilton
|My question, “Mars?” looked at the future of humans prospering on our red neighbor. In my Keystone, I built a chamber recreating Mars as closely as possible according to NASA’s current data and conducted an experiment to test the survival rate of the microscopic organism, Tardigrades, in these hostile conditions. My experiment serves as a great step in modeling Martian conditions; recreations like these marking milestones in improving our understanding of every inhospitable facet of the planet in hopes we may comprehend how to one day terraform the planet and artificially adapt a barren environment to be liveable for humans.|
