How can I embrace a world I know is dying? Apocalyptic ideation permeates uncertain eras, and existential despair finds record in the works of artists who live to see the end of things they thought eternal. Eschatologies take many forms — poems, testimonials, religious scriptures, philosophical treatises, and mythological sagas. With Yesterday’s Tomorrow, my 50-page fantasy novella, I add my voice to the chorus. This presentation is an account of my philosophical foundations, an explication of how writing Yesterday’s Tomorrow forced me to reckon with my own existential grief, and a reminder that our own world is not yet over.
