Physics of Skiing
Mentor: Andrew Hamilton
What is the progression of extreme sports? My keystones dives into the use of mechanical physics in downhill alpine skiing. While skiing, a skier has many different forces acting upon them that allows them to turn, slow down, and ski safely. Having a basic understanding of physics may help contribute to the development of a skier and can be a useful tool for instructors to have while teaching any level of skier. My goal is to show that physics and skiing can be approachable and fun if given the correct tools and materials.
