How can we make our economy more sustainable? Does increasing people’s knowledge help? My keystone looks at how the knowledge that people have affects their sustainable behaviors. My work focused on the circular economy, an economic theory that suggests that we should attempt to reduce waste through recycling, remanufacturing and sharing. I collected data on people’s knowledge and action in relation to the circular economy through a survey, and analyzed the results. The most important finding of my keystone was that there was no statistically significant relationship between the knowledge the people had and their actions.
