Alzheimer’s Disease (AD) is the most common form of dementia, affecting 33 million
people globally, and is projected to affect about 83 million by 2050, mostly people 65 years of
age and above. Some symptoms are impaired memory, loss of motor functions, and mood
changes, and there is currently no treatment for AD, except for treating individual symptoms.
However, AD can be prevented through lifestyle changes like improved sleep and physical
exercise. I will present my research proposal to evaluate the effectiveness of brain games as a
prevention technique for AD, targeting the working memory impairment aspect of the condition.
