How do we engineer urban ecologies? Ecology describes the interaction between organic systems. Wild ecosystems are frequently studied, but there is less research on urban ecological methods. Urban ecosystems and ecology can have a huge impact on human life. By using GIS techniques, I examined how ecologies of wild and urban spaces affect one another. I found evidence of direct connections between building density and ecological disturbances, as well as flaws within commonly used ecological data gathering methods. This shows how we need to reexamine both how we construct urban spaces, as well as perform wildlife management and ecology.
