Hegel’s master-slave dialectic
Mentor: Dr. Darcy Otto
This keystone presentation works through Hegel’s master-slave dialectic and its applications to other disciplines such as economics and history. In this presentation, I aim to communicate a (seemingly) complicated philosophical concept in a format accessible to all types of audiences. I use a variety of metaphors and analogies to explain key terms such as dialectic, phenomenology, and the self. By the end of this presentation, the reader should be able to understand the master-slave dialectic and its implications on current theories about the self and interpersonal relations.
