Between February and late April, myself and 14 other Prescott college students were fortunate to participate in the spring Maasailand field studies program through Prescott college. Eight weeks of this time would be spent next to the Maasai Mara game Reserve in Kenya, at the Dopoi Center. The Dopoi Center is a collaborative effort between the Maasai community, and Prescott college under the NGO MERC (the institute for Maasai Education, Research, and Conservation). This presentation will aim to encapsulate some of takeaways from the autoethnographic Journal produced in part during my time there.
