In what ways has the pandemic exacerbated existing issues for women and POC in the economy? My literature review of feminist and labor economics gives a comprehensive understanding of the economic importance of women’s work. I discuss the ways women are overworked, underpaid, and underrepresented in the economy as a whole. My presentation focuses on the ways in which women working in the unpaid labor sector along with the workforce have been negatively impacted by the pandemic. The pandemic has more drastically impacted women’s savings, their time spent doing unpaid labor, and their employment status than that of men.
