What does ecofriendly business look like? An oversaturation of green certificates and the ambiguity of the term sustainability make it increasingly difficult for consumers to reliably distinguish actual ecofriendly businesses from those merely exhibiting performative behaviors. Additionally, sustainability assessments are generally geared toward large corporations with extensive resources. However, scaling down existing sustainability frameworks also allows smaller businesses to assess and maintain their ecofriendliness. My Keystone presentation provides a brief overview of how even little, locally owned businesses can successfully manage their economic, social, and ecological impacts to better serve humanity and the planet we call home.
