How can the research on the psychological effects of isolation and containment be applied to future space colonies? Due to climate change, there may be a day in the future when it will be necessary to construct self-contained, artificial habitats in uninhabitable locations. In my Keystone presentation, I explore research into space colonies by providing an overview of the literature review I have put together. One of the findings I will discuss is the need to put more research into the field of astrosociology so that humanity can overcome the physical and mental challenges of prolonged space travel and containment.
