GRAD 2021

Hello, Class of 2021! Though we are unable to celebrate together in person this year, we are incredibly proud of all that you have accomplished. This page is dedicated to you and all the work you put into your keystone presentations. Congratulations! We can’t wait to see where you go next.

A Letter From Tim Schoahs, Executive Director of Alumni
A Letter From President George Iwama

Dear Classes of ’20 & ‘21,

Welcome to life as a graduate of Quest University Canada! You are joining just over 1000 other Quest Alumni, ten years after our first graduation. And what a year in which to do it!

The very first cohort at Quest studied the novel “Endurance: Shackleton’s Incredible Voyage” for their Cornerstone and the word ‘endurance’ became somewhat of a catchphrase for them. When it comes to your cohorts, the word that leaps to my mind has to be perseverance.

With all the obstacles that rose in front of you over the last year and a half, there were moments where you may have wanted to quit – but instead, you persevered! And because of that, you can look back on your time at Quest with great pride. Pride not only in completing a challenging degree, but additional pride in having done that during an extremely difficult year that Quest and frankly, the world, has had to endure.

And through it all, you persevered!

My role at Quest, Alumni Relations, launched only this January and is still quite new. And, while we are still in the early days, there are numerous exciting projects you will be hearing about in the coming months. Working closely with QUCAA (Quest University Canada Alumni Association) we are planning on expanding the support of our alumni in a number of ways, including the development of a speaker series, as well as looking into ways we can use social media platforms to better connect our alumni to each other, and to Quest. Please check your inboxes for more information in the weeks to come.

I look forward to celebrating with you and to hearing about your adventures after Quest.

Kind regards,

Tim Schoahs
Executive Director, Alumni & Donor Relations

Dear Class of 2021,

Congratulations on graduation! You’ve worked hard to achieve this milestone and I am proud of what you’ve accomplished. Thank you for choosing Quest and for all your contributions to our community. It has been a pleasure and a privilege getting to know you.

2020 brought unprecedented change to the world, change that is still very much part of our lives today. The pandemic came on top of our financial challenges. But we endured and have come out with a renewed opportunity to build a stronger, sustainable university. Through all the uncertainties and difficulties of 2020 and 2021, I hope that you have experienced positive moments of growth, insight and inspiration.

You are about to join a growing community of alumni, out in the world, making positive differences in unique ways. Our world is still experiencing dramatic and unprecedented change. But as you step out into that world, I know you will succeed and make a positive difference because of your Quest education.

I am deeply thankful to each of you. Thank you for bringing us all the wonderful and unique things about you. You have made your indelible mark in our community, and you will be missed.

All the best for the future. Please come and visit us whenever you can. We look forward to when we will meet again. Let’s keep in touch in the meantime. You will always have a home here on this beautiful campus in Squamish.

Warmest best wishes,

George Iwama
President and Vice-Chancellor
