Re-Defining ‘Sustainable’ and The Viability of Nuclear Energy
Mentor: Dr. Andrew Hamilton
Where can we further innovation in sustainable and regenerative technologies? Renewable and environmental regulatory technology should be approached by the physical, chemical, and social dimensions of the problem. This work covers the subversion to the term ‘sustainable’ and nuclear energy generation, both calling for a re-evaluation at a turning point in our climate crisis. By presenting a historical contextualization, the events and conditions leading to the dilution of ‘sustainability’ are discussed, and a new term ‘regenerative’ is introduced. This dichotomy creates the potential to re-approach the recent developments in nuclear energy and its potential in our futures.
