Consent Education: History, Policy, and a Children’s Book

| The fields of education, political philosophy, and history have guided my question, How do we best publicly educate? My keystone is half of a collaborative project conducted with fellow student, Sarah Maronick. Fueled by our belief that consent needs to be taught at every age, we collaboratively wrote and illustrated a children’s book on the topic of consent. In addition, I analyzed the history and current state of consent education policy in public schools. I will discuss the intricacies of consent education in the United States and will read excerpts from our book, The Spectacular Puff Petting Zoo. |
