| “Do I belong?” asks what it means to navigate and express a sense of belonging. Rooted in the field of human geography, I study how we are contextualized by the spaces around us, and how our sense of belonging is complexified in a transnational present with conflicting ideas of home. Specifically, I understand belonging as an active process of making your surroundings meaningful. My Keystone is a memoir examining belonging across most of my life. In this presentation, I focus on how I have created belonging in my current home of Squamish, BC, Canada by understanding this place through movement. |
