Join Ivan Coyote, natural born storyteller and LGTBQIA+ advocate, for a reading of their award-winning work and most recent publication: Tomboy Survival Guide. Their work touches on complex and personal issues of gender identity, family, class and social justice, but always with a generous heart and quick wit. Ivan’s stories remind us of our own imperfect humanity while inspiring us to change the world.
Ivan is a seasoned stage performer, and over the last two decades has become an audience favourite at storytelling, writer’s, film, poetry, and folk music festivals from Anchorage to Amsterdam and Australia.
There will be a Q&A with Ivan after the performance, and copies of Ivan’s books for sale at the event.
“Coyote resists reading trans-ness in hindsight, refuses to centre trans-ness as the single primary concern in trans lives and, in this regard, is quietly radical.”
