Social Sciences Tutor Tanjeem Azad will discuss the psychological science of human memory. You’ll be very surprised about how our memories aren’t as accurate as we think, especially when you are an eyewitness to a crime!
About the speaker:
Tanjeem studies the psychological science of human memory. How can we remember things that never happened? And how can we prevent these errors in memory? At the University of Victoria, she studied factors that compromise the accuracy of eyewitness memory, such as the influence of co-witness discussion. As a post-doctoral researcher at Kent State University, she explored a novel line of research examining how false denials can affect people’s memories for a witnessed event.
