This talk will explore the Strangway Archive, a collection generously donated by Dr. David Strangway, the founding President of Quest University. In addition to being an accomplished scholar and president of three universities, Strangway was Chief of the Geophysics Branch at NASA during the Apollo missions. The contents of the donation, ranging from slides and photos to maps and journals, touch on key advances in scientific and human history, and are significant to the creation of Quest University.

We’ll discuss the ongoing efforts to document and preserve the 3500+ items to archival standards for the community to enjoy for years to come!

Thea Saeterdal is a student in her last year at Quest. Her focus is Art History and the Social Sciences, and she has been particularly drawn to archival materials. When introduced to the Strangway Archive, Thea made it her mission to contribute to the preservation project, as well as offer ideas for the future conservation of our institutional history.
