Avanya Joab

Admissions Counsellor - International

Email Avanya

Avanya joins the Admissions Team after recently graduating from Quest in Spring 2022. Avanya came to Quest because of the opportunity to receive excellent educational instruction in a personalized, rigorous, and interdisciplinary program that allowed her to explore the ideas that mattered most to her. In her second year at Quest, Avanya declared her Question: “How do we create music?” As a response, her Keystone took the form of an auto-ethnography exploring hope in the music of the prolific South Korean boy band; BTS.

During her time as a student, Avanya worked in Admissions as a student ambassador, giving tours to prospective students and their families and other tasks to support the Admissions team. She especially loved meeting students from around the world and engaging in conversations about what makes Quest special. She also worked as a Rhetoric Peer Tutor, supporting her peers with writing and reading in a collaborative, supportive environment. For her Experiential Learning, she worked as an Admissions Intern for her alma mater, Woodstock School, in her hometown of Mussoorie, Uttarakhand, India. In this role, she used her intimate knowledge of the experience of a Woodstock student to support prospective students and the Admissions team.

Avanya brings enthusiasm and a love of interacting with new people to her role as an Admissions Ambassador for international applicants. She is excited to support prospective students and bring her own unique perspective as a former international Quest student.

Quest University Canada is suspending regular academic programming following
completion of the current academic year in April 2023.
