Colloquium: Cornerstones of Physical Reality
Dr. Andrew Hamilton
Quest University Canada, Tutor
What is stuff made of? What are you made of? How do you interact with the stuff around you? The fundamental answers to most aspects of our physical reality are written in the Standard Model of particle physics. This talk will introduce the cornerstones of modern physics that have lead to our understanding of the Standard Model and explain how elementary particles, including the Higgs Boson, are discovered in the Large Hadron Collider at CERN.
